Carpenter Crafts - Pottery and Fabric Crafts
Traveling south on the Mountain Parkway Backway, at Pugh, take the spur to Carpenter's Pottery. This is County Route 3/8, the Cowger Hill Road. The road is quite steep, so be prepared for a thrill. A two-wheel drive vehicle can negotiate the hill in fair weather. The road is paved. Loy Carpenter is kept busy filling orders for the Tamarack Craft Center in Beckley. Should you happen by his shop, though, when his inventory is full, you'll be delighted with your purchases. His wife, Loretta, makes quilts and other beautiful fabric crafts. D&W Crafts - Pottery and Fabric Crafts
D&W Crafts is located on Webster County Route 3, the Holly River Road near the Hanging Rocks. Dempsey is kept busy filling orders for Tamarack, the WV State sponsored craft outlet in Beckley. Dempsey's wife, Wilma, and her mother, Sylvia Cowger, who lives near by, make attractive rugs and other fabric crafts. Contact Dempsey or Wilma: 1-304-493-6348

Long Run Apple Orchard
About 3 miles beyond Pugh, the Cowger Hill Road Spur, Webster County Route 3/8 is Dale Spicer's Long Run Apple Orchard. Tourists who doubt that an orchard can be successful in this area are in for a surprise. In addition to his well-kept orchard, a look at the out buildings and other decorative projects Mr.. Spicer has constructed around his orchard attest to his creativity and skill and is well worth the visit. Call Dale at: 1-304-493-6660

Miller’s Milled Soaps and Holly River Bath and Body
Located on the Mountain Parkway Backway, Webster County Route 3, the Replete Road, near Denzil and Rose Ann’s Woven Goods is Miller’s Milled Soaps and Holly River Bath and Body. Denzil and Rose Ann’s Woven Goods
The drive from Pugh to Wheeler, a distance of 2.5 miles, passes by Denzil and Rose Ann’s Woven Goods. Denzil and Rose Ann's basket studio is located in their home. Crossing the "old time" swinging bridge to reach their studio is an enjoyable experience. Their products may be found at Tamarack and other more discriminating shops.

The Lawn Crafter
Randall McCartney, The Lawn Crafter, is located on the Mountain Parkway Backway, Webster County 1, the Boggs Mill Road. He makes lawn furniture and specializes in the attractive large lawn baskets. He may be contacted at: 1-304-493-9447

Valley Woodworks
Along the Mountain Parkway Byway at Jerry Run is the Valley Woodworks, owned and operated by Steven Fisher. He and his helpers make cabinets and other hardwood furniture from locally grown hardwoods. Steven's woodworking skills rival that of the Amish. Telephone: 1-304-493-6565

Leonard Brown - Paintings and Wood Crafts
Leonard Brown is located just off WV Route 20 on Webster County Route 1, the Boggs Mill Road. Leonard does nature paintings and wood projects. He may be contacted at 1-304-493-9499.

Susan Mace, Fabric Crafts
Susan Mace is located on the Mountain Parkway Byway just off WV State Route 20 at the Bridge at Hacker Valley. Susan makes an excellent collection of fabric crafts. She is usually at home and welcomes visitors. A Byway Culture sign is located in front of her home. Call: 1-304-493-6455
